Dancing at Lughnasa, Kate Nash and MORE Banksy…

I went to see the Full Theatre Company’s production of Dancing at Lughnasa by Brian Friel on Saturday night, at The Canteen in Stokes Croft, and it really was jolly good.  We’re studying it on my course at the moment, and so it was lovely to see it re-enacted.  Shockingly, reading can become quite tedious when doing an English Literature degree.  I had a little tear in my eye at the end, and I was amazed at how well they performed with Irish accents!  No joke, there wasn’t a single character with a bad accent, they were all marvellous.  I even obtained a cup of Earl Grey in the interval, which made the whole experience even more sumptuous.  Well done!

Next to The Canteen is another Banksy: perhaps I should start putting Banksies into all my posts..

On Thursday we went to Po Na Na, and as we were running back I thought I’d get the Park Street Banksy in too.  He just gets everywhere, that architectural hussy.

One more thing: if you’re bored, look at lovely Kate Nash’s blog.  She has just started doing it properly again so you should definitely look, because she is odd, and odd people are the most interesting.  There are lots of pictures of rabbits on it too.  She has started this after-school organisation for girls to learn to sing without them feeling intimidated by all this size-zero malarchy.

I for one am against the size-zero ideals, as I like cake more than boys.
